We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Englewood Shared Renewables program’s first cohort! Participants earned certifications in Core Construction and Solar Installation, marking a significant milestone in our mission to provide workforce development opportunities in the growing clean energy sector.
Program Highlights
• Empowered Graduates: The cohort consisted of determined participants who completed rigorous training in core construction and solar PV installation, earning industry-recognized NCCER certifications. These credentials enable them to work in construction and solar industries anywhere in the United States, expanding their horizons and career opportunities.
• Hands-on Experience: Trainees gained practical experience through real-world projects, including assembling a mock roof with solar panel installations. This hands-on approach ensured participants were job-ready with skills that meet employer demands.
• Career Readiness: Beyond technical skills, the program emphasized professional development. Graduates were equipped with tailored resumes, mock interview practice, and insights into industry pathways, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.
Key Moments
• Mock Roof Build: One of the standout activities was the collaborative construction of a mock roof equipped with solar panels. This exercise not only demonstrated the trainees’ technical proficiency but also fostered teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Industry Speakers: Participants had the opportunity to engage with industry professionals who shared valuable insights into career pathways and offered practical advice on how to stand out in the competitive job market.
