We are truly blessed in our community to have leaders, business owners, educators, and citizens who realize that we all share in the responsibility of creating economic success and happiness within our community.
The Chamber’s goal is to work toward improving the quality of life for all through the support and commitment of its members, volunteers and committees. The Chamber is proud to sponsor events throughout the year to help support the community. The Greater Englewood Chamber Foundation is also a Neighborhood Business Development Center, acting as an active partner in supporting the needs of small business owners all across Englewood.

MEET THE BOARD
Felicia Slaton-Young
Felicia Slaton-Young is the founder and owner of Belle Lucre, LLC, a financial advisory firm based in Chicago, Illinois. She has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and more than 15 years as a financial advisor. She holds a BA in Business and an MBA from Webster University. Felicia Slaton-Young is a founding member and Executive Director of the Greater Englewood Chamber of Commerce and GE Chamber Foundation, two organizations with a mission to transform Greater Englewood into a popular commercial and retail destination by advising, developing, and showcasing its established businesses and acting as a comprehensive economic development partner.
Felicia is currently a board member of St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Centers’ mission calls us to care for the sick and promote the health of the residents in the community while witnessing the Christian values of respect, dignity, caring, and compassion for all persons. Relationships are key and Felicia believes building and developing strong have allowed her to grow and sustain her business and build lasting relationships between businesses and community.

Meet Ms. Cass, an IL. REALTOR® with the Aspire Group powered by EXIT Strategy Realty. She serves the Chicagoland Area including the suburbs. Her clientele is diverse and ranges from first-time homebuyers to seasoned investors and savvy sellers. Ms. Cass has an entire team of REALTORS ® and preferred partners throughout the industry to provide the highest level of service to her clients. However, Ms. Cass's impact in the community is what sets her apart.
As a proud Board Member serving the Englewood Chamber of Commerce, an Ambassador for the Woodlawn Chamber of Commerce and an active member of the Chicago Association of Realtors® "The 77" Diversity Committee, she is dedicated to improving the lives of those around her. Ms. Cass also pours into meaningful and impactful local organizations and community-based initiatives, such as Englewood's R.A.G.E., Coffee, Hip Hop and Mental Health, the Dovetail Project, and Focus Fairies.
When Ms. Cass isn't in the field or volunteering, she's educating clients through engaging consumer education workshops, both in-person and virtually. By connecting the community through real estate, Ms. Cass has earned the motto "Your Neighborhood REALTOR® Connecting you to the Community Through Real Estate." Nanette Tucker
Nanette has been in Chicago her whole life and a resident of Englewood over the last 10 years. Having spent over 15 years helping people through social service, she is currently involved with Lakeview Employment Group which provides internships for hard to place individuals, is a designer and owner of FunkyThreads, and is the founder of Marie | Wesley, a resale boutique and member of the E.G. Woode collective.
She believes in the empowerment of being positive and that second chances, hard work, and perseverance will pay off in the long run. She joined E.G. Woode because it will not only help her with her personal and business growth, but also with growing her community by being a part of a group of individuals committed to social change in an economically challenged community.
Donnell Layne
Widely respected as a visionary and coalition builder, Mr. Layne is a wonderful addition to the non-profit space - he joined the Greater Englewood Chamber of Commerce as Board Member and Secretary back in 2016. Born and raised in Harlem, NY, Mr. Layne is a lifelong New York Knicks fan. With a background in Information Technology, he completed his undergraduate work at Cornell University studying the African diaspora. After working in the industry for several years, Mr. Layne chose to return to school and completed his engineering work, graduating summa cum laude, from Northwestern University. He has been working in the computer and telecommunications field for over two decades with experience as a professor, trainer, senior technical project manager, CEO and consultant.
Mr. Layne is a Co-founder and Co-CEO of TwinFlame Ventures focused on social impact, where he continued the Nature, Technology and Tomorrow initiative dedicated to providing educational opportunities and experiences in technology for underrepresented populations globally. Mr. Layne is currently directing two major projects in California and looks forward to the amazing opportunities this will facilitate for the community. He, most recently, was awarded a $5,000,000 grant from the Department of Education to leverage virtual and augmented reality to help close the skills gap and to construct an Outdoor classroom in conjunction with a community garden to help fight food injustice. Mr. Layne also received $6,108, 912 to build a mobile Makerspace, a 4,150 sq ft Makerspace & Innovation center, and two high-end computing labs and looks forward to expanding on this work with Clean Tech in Chicago.
