Our Mission
The mission of the Greater Englewood Chamber of Commerce is to transform Greater Englewood into a popular commercial and retail destination by (a)dvising, (d)eveloping and (s)howcasing its established businesses and acting as a comprehensive economic development partner while creating a favorable social environment for chamber members.

Our Focus
The GE Chamber's focus is to be your "wheelhouse". Every business has unique challenges. No business automatically has expertise in all of the areas required to become a thriving entity. Our job is to provide your company support and expertise for each stage of its development. The Chamber will accomplish this by working with its members to make sure that you have access to advisory professionals who can provide you with the knowledge and expertise that you need to grow. Additionally, we will expand the reach of our members marketing efforts, promote them throughout the City of Chicago and the world, connect them to financing opportunities and continue to be a trusted partner as they evolve.
Our Organizations Approach to Social Responsibility
The Chamber and its Foundation's approach to social responsibility is one that centers around making Englewood a better place to live, work and play. Through a focus of economic development, job creation, affordable housing, and educational initiatives, the Chamber and its Foundation work in partnership to facilitate social, economic, cultural and environmental activities within the neighborhoods Englewood serves. We support programs in the areas of entrepreneurship, youth education, financial literacy and small business growth, seeking to cultivate entrepreneurship within the broader Englewood Community.
The Chamber and its Foundation believe that by investing in responsible leadership and collaborative partnerships with other organizations, both within and outside of Englewood, we can create positive change for generations to come. We partner with such organizations as the Small Business Advocacy Council, Greater Southwest Development Corporation, and Teamwork Englewood to provide job training, financial assistance and business education. The Foundation also works directly with area businesses and entrepreneurs to develop a variety of programs and initiatives that strengthen the local economy.
The Chamber and its Foundation has the greatest opportunity for delivering on responsible leadership in the future by continuing to invest in people and programs that cultivate long-term benefits and foster business sustainability. This includes strengthening the Chamber’s commitment to mentorship programs, providing job-placement services, and creating outreach initiatives to make sure Englewood’s businesses have updated skills and practices that can help them stay competitive. We also strive to ensure that the benefits of responsible leadership extend beyond the confines of Englewood and into nearby communities, since a strong region is essential for a strong local economy.
